There is a different rhythm up here. The road leaves Peja behind, the valley narrows, and suddenly the mountains do all the talking.
Start with the valley
Give the journey its own space. Follow the road from Peja into Rugova and leave time to stop, look up, and take in the changing landscape. A mountain day feels better when it is not squeezed between two city visits.
Find a walk that fits you
A gentle valley walk and a full mountain hike are very different trips. Tell Erdis about your experience, your dates and how much time you want outside. He can help you find the right local contact and a route that suits your pace.
Make room for an overnight stay
If your schedule allows, spend a night in the area instead of rushing back. Ask about small locally run stays and what is open for your travel dates. Mountain conditions and access vary with the season.
My advice? Give the mountains their own day. Even better, give them two.
